November 2021 - Early frost

And now a photo from my morning walks with Poppy. Until about February this year, I used to walk through a local golf course. I’ve changed my route and now walk along the Beeline Way (better known as the cycle path from New Malden to Raynes Park!) to the sports ground in Raynes Park, and then on varying routes to make up my distance targets. Thing is that this walk is nothing like as scenic as the golf course. So, I am losing out on some great photo opportunities.

Most of my photos from the golf course were taken with my iPhone because I never remember to pick up my ‘proper’ camera at 7 in the morning when I leave the house. Poor memory, but also it gives a chance for the excellent cameras on my iPhone to shine.

So, this photo was taken on a cold November day last year, with the sun just over the horizon. The photo composition is not perfect (too many points to look at, the bench and bin on the lower right are distracting), but it is still a joy to look at. In my mind it brings back all those bright cold and frosty days that we have over the winter. I like the way the sun is still slightly golden and is pouring through the trees on the left; the two trees in the foreground act as a sort of frame for the picture, with those trees in the centre background ensure that we are not just looking at a flat grass lawn.
