August 2020 - Boiling Sea or Stormy Clouds?

I don’t know what you think these are … to me they look like a stormy sea some distance from shore; the sort of sea that I really never want to experience. The waves are rough and fierce, the boat – imagine this – is heaving up and down, right and left. And I (you?) are heaving as well (sorry!).

Of course, it isn’t the sea and I haven’t been on the sea in those conditions, fortunately. These are clouds up above – not a brilliant day, but nothing like so fierce as the storm they look like would have been. I can’t remember how much of the sky these photos show – probably a relatively small part of it – but it is always worth looking around and seeing if what you can see may be re-used as a very different scene. Macro shots are another way in which we can make one thing seem like another. For example, I have a photo of the inside of a large blousy red rose with a yellow / orange inside to the petals. Close up it looks like an abstract set of coloured shapes – nothing like a flower. Lovely!
